Having gluten intolerance doesn't have to mean missing out on your favorite foods。 "Hamlyn All Color Gluten Free "provides over 200 nutritionally analyzed recipes and easy-to-make alternatives to problem foods such as pasta, bread, pastry, and cake。 The book also contains expert advice on maintaining a balanced diet。
Cute cookbook with a color photo for every recipe and a very thorough index。 It's got a lot of savory dishes and appetizers, and a smaller assortment of breakfasts and desserts。 The book itself is tiny, and I feel like it might be good to take if you're going to travel to visit friends or relatives。 It uses mostly white and brown rice, cornstarch, xanthan gum, and cornmeal—stuff that's not too hard to find。 Measurements are by volume and the recipes are pretty simple。On the other hand, the book Cute cookbook with a color photo for every recipe and a very thorough index。 It's got a lot of savory dishes and appetizers, and a smaller assortment of breakfasts and desserts。 The book itself is tiny, and I feel like it might be good to take if you're going to travel to visit friends or relatives。 It uses mostly white and brown rice, cornstarch, xanthan gum, and cornmeal—stuff that's not too hard to find。 Measurements are by volume and the recipes are pretty simple。On the other hand, the book is British in origin, and only partially translated into American。 Like sometimes it says caster sugar and sometimes it says superfine sugar。 As for "floury potatoes," I'd never heard of them, but Dr。 Google says you can use Russets。 。。。more
Sam Woodfield,
As someone who has just discovered they have a gluten allergy, and was quite overwhelmed by this, this book is really useful to give some initial ideas to get you used to what is and isn't allowed on your new diet。There is nothing profound about these recipes - no flavour combinations that will blow your mind or have you racing for the kitchen, but it does show you how you can eat normally and carry on eating the things you like by simply making small substitutions to the recipes。I now feel much As someone who has just discovered they have a gluten allergy, and was quite overwhelmed by this, this book is really useful to give some initial ideas to get you used to what is and isn't allowed on your new diet。There is nothing profound about these recipes - no flavour combinations that will blow your mind or have you racing for the kitchen, but it does show you how you can eat normally and carry on eating the things you like by simply making small substitutions to the recipes。I now feel much more confident about dealing with my allergy, and know that soon enough I will be back eating the foods I used to love。 。。。more
Crystal,
The best part of this cookbook is the recipe for sticky toffee pudding!! I checked this out of the library, but am planning on purchasing it。 All of the other recipes looked good, and color photos were included。
